Diagonale
Diagonale is an independent Belgian publishing house. Founded in 2014 by Ann-Gaëlle Dumont and Pascaline David, it launches new authors and specialises in publishing first novels of all genres.
Aware of the difficulties authors face when trying to break into the publishing world, it offers to return rejected manuscripts in the format of synopses, allowing authors to be guided and encouraged in their writing. Subsequently, they form a trusting relationship with the author, useful for developing a literary career in fictional texts.
It offers fictional texts in a unique style, with narrative efficiency and in original worlds such as « Les conquêtes véritables » by Nicolas Marchal (Prix Première), « Quand les ânes de la colline sont devenus barbus » by John Henry (Prix littéraire de la Roquette à Arles, Lauréat du Festival du premier roman de Chambéry) and "Le Modèle" by Manuel Capouet (Finaliste du Prix Club).
It benefits links in the book chain by placing its application forms for manuscripts in its books. It therefore encourages the discovery and sale of first novels in book shops.
