Présence et Action Culturelles (PAC)

Présence et Action Culturelles is a permanent, popular movement of Education recognised by the Ministry of Culture of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

Founded in 1969, it is part of the direct filiation of the Cercles d’Education Ouvrière created by the Mouvement Ouvrier at the beginning of the 20th Century. Historically linked to the Socialist Party and ideologically close, PAC nevertheless remains structurally independent.

Its activities are structured around four points:

- The promotion of citizenship and political education: animations, collective projects, debates, the project ‘Reboussolons-nous’, taking stances, demonstrations…

- Training with its general service and its Université Populaire: training of instructors, animators, public writers, intercultural approaches, approaches regarding genres…

- Publishing: the permanent Cahiers de l’Education but also the publication of works, studies and analyses on issues and questions in society…

- The conception and creation of awareness campaigns, notably with Asseoir l’Espoir (2008), Caddy Minimum Garanti (2011), Tous des glandeurs ? (2013) and again Semons des possibles 2015 and in the future.
