2017 Frankfurt Book Fair

French-speaking Belgium in the spotlight

The next Frankfurt Book Fair will take place from the 11th – 15th October 2017.

It will have the theme ‘Francfort en français’ and will see the French-speaking publishing world (including the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles) attached to France, the invite of honour of 2017. We will of course prepare for this honour and its implications.

The Frankfurt Book Fair 2016 – 19th-23rd October

Flanders is the honoured participant of the Frankfurt Book Fair

A brilliant success for this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair, which even registered an increase in the attendance of the public and professionals (+1.3%).

Flanders – invited with honour along with the Netherlands – created an amazing space, transporting us for the occasion to the beaches of the North Sea, including deckchairs !

The collective stand of the publishers of Wallonie and Brussels notably welcomed a delegation from the German-speaking region of Belgium, led by their Minister of Culture Isabelle Weykmans. Some librarians from the German-speaking community also came. Please feel free to look at the photos online on our Facebook page to see the experience for yourself !

The principal meeting of the publishing world, the Frankfurt Book Fair welcomes more than 7000 participants every year in October. It is also a chance to honor the works and culture of a specific country. In 2012, New Zealand presented itself to the visitors. In 2013, Brazil will be in the spotlight.

Every year, the ADEB organizes a collective stand of Belgian editors from Wallonia and Brussels. This initiative is also open to other professionals who are not members of our association. For the conditions of participation, contact export@adeb.be.

Conclusion of the 2012 Fair

According to the Belgian publishers at our collective stand...

Many business meetings took place in our stand, and ADEB took this occasion to present its new website to the international publishing world. A delightful cocktail reception provided the opportunity to thank Maggy Wouters for her unwavering support of the Belgian French-language publishing for many years. This year, most of the stand’s books were offered to the French-speaking and international libraries of Frankfurt and Mainz. You will find attached the list of these libraries.

Welcome to the Frankfurt Book Fair 2012 !

From 10 to 14 October there’s nowhere else you should be but here with us. As the world’s largest, even legendary book fair, Frankfurt is always exciting, innovative and very, very colourful. This year, once again, we’re keenly awaiting more than 7.000 international exhibitors, diverse new customer groups and around 3.000 events. Among its many activities, the Frankfurt Academy is hosting four conferences to help international publishers find their way in the digital world, as well as the two-day event, StoryDrive, to highlight the potential for crossmedial cooperation.

The rest of the Academy’s programme is also well worth a look, whether it’s assistance for first timers, new technologies in the classroom, marketing for publishers. We promise a lot – and we keep the promise.
