« Everybody reads »

Our first concern remains the reading skills of our young children. If we refer to the reading comprehension results revealed by the PIRLS 2016 international survey (Progress in Reading Literacy Study), our 10-year-old students are the lowest readers in the European Union and OECD countries. To draw attention to this huge societal challenge, ADEB organized on April 23th (International Book Day), along with the youth and school editors, the operation « Everybody reads ».
Everyday, let’s stop everything to read for 15 minutes and test the benefits of daily reading. 15 minutes of calm, discoveries, complicity, escape … Wherever you are, whatever you do, read!
At school, at work, in the subway, at home, on vacation, no matter where, take 15 minutes of your time to read.
- At school, offer students, with their teacher, 15 minutes of reading.
- At work … why not too?
- In the subway/train…, to brighten your ride?
- In the evening, as a bedtime ritual with your children.
