Crossing borders, playing away from ethnocentrism, Genèse Édition is a Franco-Belgian publishing house, created in April 2009. The catalog is available on its website: http://www.genese-edition.eu.
Its publishing policy consists of:
– Novels whose authors belong to several worlds at once : Belgians working in Paris as movie actors, music directors or advertisers ; French writers living in Brussels, a Cameroonian lawyer who works at the UN (New York ) or an Algerian businessman living between Manhattan, Paris and Brussels, for example.
Their imagination, free from parochial codes, is enriched by a variety of rich and modern experiences, as shown in the wonderful novel La tentation du pont (The Bridge Temptation) by Véronique, or the funny and magical novel by Alain Berenboom Messie malgré tout (Messiah anyway).
– Stories with content which appeals to a wide audience, such as the marvel story by Johan Frédérik Hel Guedj, Chercheurs d’éternité (Seekers of Eternity), which tells the story of the construction of the first polar station in Antarctica with zero emissions (a story of technical prowess and breathtaking epic human feat). There is also L’esprit et la molécule (The Spirit and the Molecule) by Mohand Sidi Saïd which tells, from Alger to Manhattan, of how a small watermelon seller in Kabylie became one of the three presidents of a leading firm in the pharmaceutical industry.
-Essays which address current issues without technical jargon such as Secret Finance by Paul Washer, an essay in which the author is indignant, based on facts, regarding the impunity enjoyed by global financial speculation.
